Professor Haddad will examine US policy toward the Middle East at a critical juncture in the region’s history, with an emphasis on cases in which the United States is directly involved. He will draw on a decades-long history of US relations with the region and will address the prospects for US Middle East policy under a Trump administration.
Bassam Haddad is Director of the Middle East and Islamic Studies Program and Associate Professor at the Schar School of Policy and Government at George Mason University.
This event is part of the Monday Night MENA series, a partnership between Northwestern's MENA Program and Evanston Public Library aimed at improving the public's understanding of the MENA region and allowing space for questions and discussion. Monday Night MENA events are free of charge and open to the public.
