Between Policy & Academia: Ethics of Research on Refugees & War
Northwestern Undergrads from many fields (including international studies, migration studies, and global health) heed the call to go abroad and do work that helps people. But how do researchers balance their humanitarian instincts with the necessity of framing their work as academic research? Join us at lunchtime, Wed 8 Feb, as students and faculty members who have tackled these questions in their own work discuss the ethics of research on refugees and war.
The BIG IDEAS FORUMS are a series of lunchtime conversations on urgent topics, that bring together student and faculty researchers from across Northwestern to celebrate interdisciplinary research. Sponsored by the Office of Undergrad Research. All welcome!
UNDERGRAD AND FACULTY PRESENTERS:
Angela Lin (MMSS and MENA), Aslı Salihoğlu (Economics and International studies), Subin Hwang (Human Development and Chemistry), Peter Locke (Anthropology), and Lauren Stokes (History)
Moderated by Galya Ben-Arieh (Center for Forced Migration)
