Medical Education Teaching Skills Pre-Course

The Medical Education pre-course features didactic lectures and workshops by seasoned faculty on key topics in medical education including assessment and remediation. It also offers an opportunity for participants to improve their teaching skills in evidence-based medicine and clinical reasoning. In addition, participants will learn how to incorporate technology and social media to optimize their trainees’ learning.

At the conclusion of this activity, participants will be able to:

1) Describe effective methods of teaching evidence-based medicine to trainees.
2) Demonstrate the use of technology and social media platforms to engage learners and advance scholarship.
3) Articulate how to perform learner needs assessment in various educational settings.
4) Apply teaching skills in a microteaching session.
