Description:

The Midwest is home to a large group of outstanding research institutions with strong programs whose primate-focused research spans a wide range of disciplines. The Midwest Primate Interest Group (MPIG) celebrates the work of these primatologists through annual meetings, particularly fostering the work of students. The MPIG meeting is a local conference in which scholars of all career stages, from undergraduates to faculty, come together as an intellectual community to discuss new theoretical ideas and present recent research. It is an environment in which students can ask questions, explore ideas, and get feedback from more senior scholars. MPIG strongly encourages graduate and undergraduate students engaged in all aspects of primate research to become members of our community and to attend and present their work at our annual conference. Although centered in the midwestern US, MPIG has members from across the United States, Canada, and Mexico, and welcomes all interested parties to join us in advancing the science of primate research. This year's meeting will be held at Northwestern University's campus in Evanston, Illinois, on October 20th and 21st, 2017. Please visit the following page for more information on presenting at and attending the meeting.
Sponsored by the Department of Anthropology, Department of Psychology, Program in Environmental Studies, and Weinberg College of Arts and Sciences
