The Department of Microbiology-Immunology Seminar Series
"Imaging the Immune Response to Infection"
Christopher Hunter, PhD - University of Pennsylvania
Description
Infectious processes lead to the development of inflammation that can mediate protection against micro-organisms and the availability of genetically modified hosts and pathogens has allowed a better understanding of the events that allow the development of protective immunity but also how pathogens evade protective immunity. This presentation will focus on the use of genetically modified parasites and imaging techniques can be combined to gain new insights into the early events during infection.
