Join us for a lecture by Dr. Mwemezi Kaino, Director of the Department of Anesthesia and Intensive Care at Kilimanjaro Christian Medical Center in Moshi, Tanzania. He is on the faculty at Kilimanjaro Christian Medical University College, Moshi where he is also the Coordinator of Undergraduate and Postgraduate training in Anesthesia and Critical Care.

Dr. Kaino did his medical training at the National Pirogov Memorial Medical University, Vinnitsa, Ukraine and his Masters of Medicine in Anesthesiology at Kilimanjaro Christian Medical University College, Moshi, United Republic of Tanzania. Since taking up his current position he has worked on developing sustainable models of international co-operation between his home institution and universities in the UK, Holland and the US. Dr. Kaino has pioneered new techniques for the management of post-operative pain in low resource environments and has worked extensively with Lifebox and other organizations to improve the safety of anesthesia care, both at KCMC and other hospitals in Tanzania.
