How can we assess student learning without using grades? In this interactive session, we will focus on how formative assessments can be used to demonstrate student growth and understanding. We will share specific strategies, focusing on Classroom Assessment Techniques (CATs), and examples from a range of disciplines on how formative assessments can be used to capture immediate information about student learning, as well as change over time.
