Also known as “Penance” and “Confession”, the Sacrament of Reconciliation is one of the seven sacraments celebrated in the Catholic Church. It is a continuation of Christ’s ministry of forgiveness. It is Christ, acting through the priest, who forgives the penitent in the sacrament. The Sacrament of Reconciliation encourages a deeply personal examination of your life, which is shared with the priest in a confidential conversation in which sins are absolved.
