About this Event
We are going to dive into a topic near and dear to us as Chicagoans. The Great Lakes! We have two fintastic guests that will slake our thirst for knowledge of the goings on in our local watershed.

Drum roll please.....

Dr. Karen J Murchie, Director of freshwater research for the Shedd Aquarium. Dr. Murchie has an ongoing study on suckers in the Great Lakes watershed. This is a study that relies in part on citizen science. Here's a story the Tribune did on her work: https://www.chicagotribune.com/news/ct-lake-michigan-sucker-fish-climate-met-20170508-story.html

Jennifer Caddick, Vice President, Communications & Engagement for The Alliance For the Great Lakes. We hear bout plastic pollution in general but Jennifer Caddick will help us understand what is happening in our own backyard. Not only will you be submerged in knowledge, you will also leave feeling empowered on what you can do to help!

These prestigious guests are a reel catch for us. I look forward to learning with you guys next month. Please tell your friends and spread the news throughout your network - pier pressure works, people! This will also be the last event of 2019 so don't miss it!
