David Arganbright is VP, Government Affairs for OmniTRAX and a career railroad professional with 30 years of multi-disciplinary experience. He is currently responsible for the creation of public-private partnerships and represents OmniTRAX on political and legislative matters, and has served RailAmerica in a similar capacity. Dave has also held key roles in operations, strategic planning and business development at Amtrak and spent nine years with Conrail in marketing and corporate strategy. He has a degree in Business from Indiana University, an MBA from Northwestern’s Kellogg School, and professional certification (CTL) from the American Society of Transportation & Logistics.
 
John Friedmann is VP, Network Planning & Optimization for Norfolk Southern where he is responsible for the operating plan. He oversaw the first PSR operating plan in 2019 and headed the consolidation of all dispatching functions into a single Network Operations Center. At Norfolk Southern, John has served in a variety of operating, administrative and commercial roles, including Assistant to the Chairman, Division Superintendent, AVP Short Line Marketing and VP of Strategic Planning.  He is a board member for several short line railroads and previously served as Chairman of Norfolk Southern’s telecommunications subsidiary T-Cubed.
 
Hani Mahmassani, NUTC Director and the William A. Patterson Distinguished Chair in Transportation at Northwestern University, will moderate this asynchronous virtual roundtable. Dr. Mahmassani brings over 35 years of research, academic and professional experience in transportation systems analysis, network modeling and logistics systems. He also currently serves on the International Advisory Board of the Panama Canal Authority. 
 
Eric Marchetto is Senior VP and CFO at Trinity Industries, Inc. with over two decades of leadership experience within their rail business. He was previously TrinityRail’s Company Group President, as well as CCO with responsibility for all of TrinityRail’s commercial activities, secondary market activities, and customer and industry relationships. Eric is spearheading the use of analytics in business decisions and service to TrinityRail customers and has been a key contributor towards the development, growth, and evolution of the railcar manufacturing, leasing, and services businesses into the TrinityRail Integrated Business Model. He is a graduate of Southern Methodist University.
