Abstract
An Introduction to Coding I: The first of a two-part series, this seminar will introduce the fundamentals of programming through the use of pseudo-code. It will cover basics such as variable types, loops, and functions. It is intended for application to a broad range of languages.
Bio
Susan Alexis Brown is a third year PhD student of Civil Engineering, in the Materials, Mechanics, and Structures group at Northwestern University. She received a Bachelor of Science in Civil Engineering from the University of Southern California and a Bachelor of Science in Physics from Gordon College, as well as a Master of Science from Northwestern in 2020. Her current research focuses on long-term mechanics of wood structures and wood-concrete hybrid tall buildings.
