Abstract:
My lab focuses on inventing novel neurotechnologies and applying innovative approaches to probe the cellular and network mechanisms of brain disorders and brain stimulation therapies. Our ultimate goals are to develop clinical biomarkers for disease diagnosis and a new generation of neuromodulation therapeutics. In this talk, I will describe our recent effort on developing single cell voltage imaging techniques, and the application of voltage imaging, along with calcium imaging and optogenetic techniques, in probing circuit dynamics within the cortical-basal ganglion networks that are relevant for Parkinson’s disease and deep brain stimulation therapies.
