Description:

Please join the Robert J. Havey, MD, Institute for Global Health for our "First Friday" Seminar Series! This webinar will be available through Zoom, and registration is required in order to receive information to join. All that register will receive a link that is unique to them.

Leading the discussion is Lisa Hirschhorn, MD, MPH, who is a Professor of Medical Social Sciences and Psychiatry and Behavioral Sciences as well as the Associate Director of the Center for Global Cardiovascular Health, Institute for Global Health at Northwestern University's Feinberg School of Medicine.

Dr. Hirschhorn's research has focused on understanding the causes of and developing feasible and effective solutions to the implementation gap and disparities in delivery, outcomes and quality of care in resource limited settings in both the US and in Africa.

As an implementation and improvement scientist, Dr. Hirschhorn has worked to develop novel approaches to using mixed methods to better understand these gaps and leverage the use of routine health information and more efficient measurement strategies. In addition, she works to increase the effectiveness of research to identify and understand disparities in care and outcomes, increasing data use and policy change to drive evidence-based decision making in healthcare settings.

The Robert J. Havey, MD, Institute for Global Health Seminar Series is held the first Friday of each month, September through July, and will feature the research and ideas of outstanding global health leaders at Feinberg, the larger Northwestern community, and beyond.
