Abstract:
An independent set of operators in effective field theories has long been a subtle problem, due to the many redundancies among the operators.
In this talk, I will show a systematic way to provide an independent operator basis for any effective field theories, ranging from SMEFT to all kinds of low-energy EFTs and Einstein gravitational theories.
An on-shell amplitude basis is constructed at first, which serves as building blocks for recursion relations at tree level and unitarity cut at loop levels, and afterwards they are translated to operators by a dictionary.
Independent components for operators with flavors are given, well organized. Conversion matrices among different operator bases can be obtained with ease, making it handy to compare results based on various operator basis in the literature.
