Description:

One of the masters of world cinema, Iranian writer-director ASGHAR FARHADI, will be visiting us virtually to offer a masterclass.  The virtual session will co-moderated by Director of the MFA in Writing for the Screen and Stage Zayd Dohrn and Assistant Professor of Screen Cultures Lakshmi Padmanabhan.

Farhadi’s films have received some of the highest honors in the world of cinema including achieving the rare distinction of winning the Oscar for Best Foreign Language film twice: once for A Separation (2010) and again for The Salesman (2016). This session is a not-to-be missed opportunity to learn from one of the international giants of cinematic storytelling about his approach to the medium and how his work has achieved such a unique impact on world culture.

This event is made possible by a Global Campus Collaborative Virtual Visitorship Grant from Northwestern Buffett Institute for Global Affairs and The MFA in Writing for the Screen & Stage program. Event and promotional support is provided by EPICS.

Zoom and Handshake RSVP links are included below.  This event is open to all members of the Northwestern community.  Students are strongly encouraged to RSVP on Handshake.  Faculty, staff, and alumni can log on directly without RSVP.
