This conversation will feature the music and activism of Yanna. Their songs combine Afro-diasporic genres like hip-hop, dancehall, trap, reggaetón, house, funk, and salsa with extremely powerful lyrics and a visual aesthetic centered on fighting violence against women and queer people while directly combating racism. The dialogue will also tackle Yanna’s use of humor, DYI tactics, and migration.

Yanna is an independent artist. Their singles “MarcaPeru” and “La Vuelta” were released in 2020. A new single “Quema” features her collaboration with Ar13$ and Luanda. Yanna is currently producing their first album.
