Humanizing Pedagogy and Asset-Based Approaches to Learning

What is humanizing pedagogy? What does it mean to fully recognize our students as humans? In this interactive session, we will draw on principles from Paolo Freire and Maria del Carmen Salazar to explore practices and strategies that humanize our students in learning contexts of all types. We will explore asset-based learning, and how we can actively cultivate and honor what our students bring into our classrooms in meaningful ways.
