You can now register (click here) to the upcoming seminar of the Winter 2022 quarter, happening on Thursday, March 3, at 12-1 PM US CT. Profs. Jamil Marques (Universidade Federal do Paraná) and Edna Miola (Universidade Tecnológica Federal do Paraná) will give a presentation entitled “Trends in political communication research: What can we learn from the Brazilian case?”
Abstract: The purpose of this seminar is twofold. First, we discuss how historical, social, and political aspects are intertwined with the development of Political Communication research in Brazil. Second, we reflect on the main challenges that our community of scholars faces to circulate internationally. We hold that fostering a deeper integration with other scientific cultures can be a game-changer to discuss the limitations of some Western-fashioned concepts usually adopted in our region.
