Career Advancement through Effective Communication and Negotiation

Seeking and starting that first job as a scientist or engineer is a time of great transition and uncertainly. This workshop provides techniques necessary for an effective career launch into the job that best fits your skills and interests. This workshop module will help position you to be most effective in applying for a variety of job positions, developing a tailored CV and/or resume for the position and being an effective communicator in the interview whether it is by phone, web-based or in person. Additional topics include effective communication methods, the importance of effective negotiation techniques to advance research and career objectives, and the importance of network building.
