The student Alexis Balog will present a master's research thesis defense on:

"Solidago Altissima Management in Old Fields/Tallgrass Prairies of the Chicagoland Area" 

Summary: Solidago altissima is an aggressive native species that often overwhelms other native plants in restorations. This project has investigated the effects of mowing stands of S. altissima and seeding in native species to manage the population of S. altissima in local tallgrass prairies.
