Abstract:
Stress became the most commonly used cause of any ailment; whether it is related to physical limitations, losses, illnesses, and any event that produces major changes in our life. We all know the classic pathways that generate elevated glucocorticoids in response to stress and affect behaviors and cognitions. However, there is relatively little is known about individual variations in stress-reactivity, coping with stress and how these individual characteristics can influence affective and cognitive functions and drug use. Through the development of genetic animal models, we are aiming to identify the connections between these traits and their molecular determinants.
