The 25th Annual Chicago Language Symposium will be held on Saturday, April 29, 2023 on Northwestern University’s lakefront campus in Evanston, just north of the city of Chicago.
This year’s symposium is focused on Diversity, Equity and Inclusion (DEI) in the World Language Classroom and will discuss topics such as:
Gender equality in the language classroom
Differentiated instruction
Post pandemic challenges
Linguistic and cultural diversity in the language classroom
Culturally responsive and trauma-informed teaching
Equity and diversity in content-based instruction
Confronting racial inequities in the language classroom
Fostering inclusive learning environments
“Translanguaging” in the heritage language classroom
Supporting students with disabilities
