The Black Health and Wellness Collaborative (BHWC) at Northwestern University will present a vigil for Justice for Tyre Nichols, 7:00 PM on Tuesday, February 7th at Alice Millar Chapel (1870 Sheridan Road Evanston, IL). The event will feature student speakers, live music, and a candle-lighting ceremony. This will be a space for reflection and commemoration of the many wrongful deaths experienced at the hands of extrajudicial policing.
The mission of BHWC is to provide a safe space for mental health discourse and reduce the stigma surrounding mental health within the Black community through collective conversation and advocacy. We encourage Northwestern students and members of the Evanston and Chicago communities to attend Alice Millar Chapel to pay their respect and hope the space can serve as a place of remembrance and peace. No tickets or reservations are required, and candles will be provided to all participants.
