I will discuss the fundamental mechanisms of the effector T cell response, which is closely related to immune deficiency and autoimmunity. Specifically, this talk will focus on how calcium entry in effector T cells is regulated by molecules and organelles like mitochondria. I will also discuss reverse and forward genetics tools to identify components in this pathway.
