Campbell’s book draws from a multi-institutional observational study covering more than 700 higher education courses in a range of contexts to highlight where and how exemplary teaching is practiced in US higher education. Following Campbell’s talk, University Teaching Awards and the Alumnae Award for Curricular Innovation winners will reflect on Campbell’s call for evidence- and equity-based teaching practices and culturally responsive support for student learners. They will offer illustrations of their efforts to ensure a positive classroom dynamic in which all students can thrive in line with Northwestern’s Principles of Inclusive Teaching.
