Join us for a lecture by Dr. Lifang Hou, MD, PhD this Wednesday, April 26 at 5 PM in Searle Conference Room (Lurie Research Building, Ground Floor).
She'll be sharing her perspective as a physician-scientist leading the Center for Global Oncology here at Northwestern. This will be an exploration on her body of work in understanding clinical disease development globally by utilizing population epigenetics to understand the most pressing factors in cancer incidence worldwide. Her expertise gives us a unique perspective on the influencers of cancer outcomes in diverse populations, and we'll get to hear more about how the medical and scientific communities can better advocate for populations receiving disparate care through research and other means. As one of a handful of leaders on President Biden's Cancer Moonshot Task Force, she'll also give us an opportunity to hear about her perspective serving on governmental initiatives, and how to approach governmental advocacy.
