In this Third Coast Center for AIDS Research seminar, Patrick Janulis, PhD, and Benjamin Schalet, PhD, will present findings from their 2020 CFAR administrative supplement award, “A common metric for substance use to prevent HIV: Psychometric linking of substance use severity questions.”
About the Presenters:
Patrick Janulis, PhD, is an assistant professor of medical social sciences at Northwestern University Feinberg School of Medicine and a quantitative methodologist for the Third Coast CFAR. His research examines the intersection of HIV, drug use, and LGBTQIA+ health.
Benjamin Schalet, PhD, is a universitair docent in the Department of Epidemiology and Data Science at Amsterdam University Medical Centers. His research focuses on the methodology of developing and applying patient-reported outcomes (PROs) instruments, with an emphasis on psychometrics and standardized PRO assessments such as the Patient-Reported Outcomes Measurement Information System (PROMIS). He conducts research in collaboration with the Department of Medical Social Sciences at Northwestern University Feinberg School of Medicine, where he was a faculty member for 10 years.
