About the Speakers:
Shantel Gabrieal Buggs is an assistant professor of Sociology and African American Studies at Florida State University. Her research focuses on race and racism, intimacy, and digital life. She is a co-editor and author of Unsafe Words: Queering Consent in the #MeToo Era.
Trevor Hoppe is associate professor of sociology at UNC Greensboro. He is the author of "Punishing Disease: HIV and the Criminalization of Sickness," which won several awards including the Lambda Literary Award for LGBTQ Studies. He is also the co-editor of "The War on Sex" and "Unsafe Words: Queering Consent in the #MeToo Era."
