Join us in welcoming Dr. Ginger Rothrock, Senior Investment Director of HG Ventures for an afternoon lecture "The Power of Corporate Venture Capital in Sustainability" followed by a reception! 

This event is co-hosted by the Paula M. Trienens Institute for Sustainability and Energy, Querrey InQubation Lab, and the Innovation and New Ventures Office.

Free event open to the Northwestern community. Registration required. Food and beverages will be provided.

About the Presentation: Dr. Ginger Rothrock will explore how corporate venture capital is driving innovation and sustainability by investing in start-up companies in areas including circular economy, green chemistry, and electrification.

About the Speakers: Dr. Ginger Rothrock is the Senior Investment Director of HG Ventures, the Corporate Venture Arm of The Heritage Group, where she invests in early to growth stage companies developing advanced materials and systems for the circular economy, energy, water, specialty chemicals, and transportation infrastructure. Ginger has worked at the intersection of science, business, and innovation her entire career and deeply appreciates the opportunity to merge her operating experience with her desire to invest in people. She's particularly passionate about science and engineering anchoring the next generation of transformative startups. Before joining HG Ventures, Ginger served as Vice President of Technology and Commercialization at RTI International where she oversaw the commercialization of a $1 billion portfolio of R&D and served as a mentor and coach to numerous scientific innovators. She is also an accomplished scientist and serial entrepreneur who empathizes with our entrepreneurs’ unique challenges.

Ananth Naman is an executive who leads organizations to deliver top- and bottom-line growth through development and commercialization of innovative technologies and new products. He specializes on developing and delivering executable research and development (R&D) strategy based on data-driven decision making that enables execution of short- and long-term business plans within specialty chemical, industrial and electronic materials industries. His industrial work experience includes Seagate, Honeywell, and Cabot Microelectronics, and he is currently consulting on sustainable technology development.
