"Cardiac arrhythmias and myopathies at high resolution: structural and functional investigation of calcium-selective channels"
Ryanodine Receptors are large ion channels found in the membranes of the ER and SR, where they govern the release of calcium ions into the cytosol. They play key roles in cardiac and skeletal muscle contraction, Alzheimer's disease, and much more. Using Cryo-EM and electrophysiology, we study their regulation, pharmacology, and the effect of disease-associated mutations.
