Assisted by Sally Hausken
Principal oboe for the Cleveland Orchestra, the San Francisco Symphony, the Metropolitan Opera Orchestra, and the Buffalo Philharmonic Orchestra over the course of his career, Marc Lifschey was a prodigious talent. His Cleveland Orchestra colleague, former principal horn Myron Bloom, explained, “He would play and people’s mouths in the Orchestra would drop open. It was so special, he wasn’t an oboist anymore.” Bienen lecturer Robert Morgan discusses the performing and teaching career of the legendary musician.
