This course will deepen understanding of the stages of educator development, starting with preservice teachers, and explore the ways mentoring, instructional coaching, and evaluation support growth. Topics will include new teacher induction, standards and goal-setting, observation and feedback, using data, and building meaningful structures and routines focused on conditions for effective adult learning. Class members will be encouraged to consider authentic problems of practice in order to build knowledge and strengthen their application of new information and skills. Parking and lunch vouchers included.
Illinois licensed teachers will be eligible to receive 20 hours (spread over 6 weeks) of professional development that can be used toward Illinois teacher licensure renewal.
Registration for this workshop will close on June 3rd, 2024.
