Brooke Blower from Boston University will speak on her new book, Americans in a World at War. Prof. Blower is an absolutely terrific historian, who works at the intersection of cultural history and global affairs. Her recent book, published by Oxford, offers “intimate histories” of individuals in the 1940s who traveled widely in an age of ostensible “isolationism.” It’s small-scale history with a big point: to challenge prevailing narratives about World War II from the United States.
