Northwestern University’s Hazard Communication Program requires the designation of a Hazard Communication Coordinator in each non-research department where there is a potential for exposure to hazardous chemicals. In this annually required course, the designated Hazard Communication Coordinators will learn about their roles and responsibilities, including chemical container labeling, maintaining safety data sheet (SDS) inventories, and informing employees and contractors of hazardous chemicals and precautions. The course will also include a review of the key points of the OSHA Hazard Communication standard and Northwestern University’s Hazard Communication Program.
