The Moore Lecture Series is proud to present acclaimed author and poet John Keene.
His 2022 poetry collection, Punks: New and Selected Poems, received the National Book Award for Poetry. He is the author of the novella and story collection Counternarratives (2015), the poetry collection Seismosis (2006, with art by Christopher Stackhouse), and the novel Annotations (1995).
Keene is the recipient of a multitude of awards, including the American Book Award, a Lambda Literary Award for Gay Poetry, a Lannan Literary Award for Fiction, the Thom Gunn Prize, and a MacArthur Foundation "Genius" Fellowship. He is Distinguished Professor of English, chairs the African American and African Studies department, and teaches in the MFA in Creative Writing Program at Rutgers University-Newark.
