BCE performs J. S. Bach’s cantata BWV 39: Brich dem Hungrigen dein Brot (Give the hungry ones thy bread). Also featured is one of Bach’s most comforting works, the motet Komm, Jesu, komm, alongside a setting of the same text by contemporary Swedish composer Sven-David Sandström. Joining the ensemble is an orchestra of period instruments.
