Andrew Megill and Victoria Marshall, conductors; Chuck Foster, collaborative piano
The ensemble performs Der Rose Pilgerfahrt (The Pilgrimage of the Rose), a sweet fairy-tale set to music by Robert Schumann, in which a magic rose takes on human form to learn the secret of true love. The work was originally composed for performance in Schumann’s home, sung by his family and friends, with a virtuoso piano part for Robert’s wife Clara, the greatest pianist of her age.
Cost: Tickets are $8 for the general public and $5 for students with valid ID.
