Bio:

Dr. Leanna M. Ross is an Assistant Professor in the Division of Cardiology, Department of Medicine and member of the Duke Molecular Physiology Institute at the Duke University School of Medicine.  Leanna received her master’s and doctoral degrees in Exercise Science from the University of South Carolina and completed a postdoctoral fellowship at the Duke Molecular Physiology Institute.  With funding from the American Heart Association, National Institutes of Health, and the Duke Pepper Older Americans Independence Center, Leanna’s research focuses on understanding 1) the dose-response effects of exercise interventions at the group level; 2) the heterogeneity of exercise training responses at the individual level; and 3) the legacy effects of exercise interventions on health outcomes from five to fifteen years following intervention.  The goal of her research is to develop an integrative molecular-physiologic-bioinformatic approach to promote precision exercise medicine and optimize health benefits.
