Darius Hampton and Joe Clark, conductors
The Jazz Messengers were an iconic jazz ensemble led by drummer Art Blakey from the early 1950s until his death in 1990. A revolving incubator for young talent, the group helped established careers for numerous jazz musicians such as Branford and Wynton Marsalis, Benny Golson, and Terence Blanchard. The Darius Hampton and Joe Clark ensembles perform the timeless music of The Jazz Messengers.
