Bio:

Dr. Sandra Shi, MD, MPH, is a geriatrician and Instructor of Medicine at Harvard Medical School and the Hinda and Arthur Marcus Institute for Aging Research at Hebrew SeniorLife. Her research centers on frailty and post-acute care in skilled nursing facilities, leveraging large databases, including national surveys and Medicare claims data to study post-acute care outcomes and rehabilitation. In 2024, she was honored with the Health in Aging Foundation New Investigator Award from the American Geriatrics Society. She has been a National Institute on Aging Butler-Williams Scholar and R03 GEMSSTAR awardee.  Dr. Shi's ultimate goal is to integrate geriatrics and rehabilitation sciences to develop interventions that improve the overall quality of life for frail older adults. Her multidimensional approach to aging research emphasizes personalized, patient-centered outcomes to empower older adults and their families in the post-acute rehabilitation journey.
