Title: Mixing and Fourier bounds of conjugacy classes in compact Lie groups

Abstract: I'll talk about products of conjugacy classes (and, more generally, normal subsets) in compact simple Lie groups, and especially on the mixing time of the random walk generated by the conjugacy class. The main technical tool is a new bound on character values. Based on joint works with Itay Glazer, Michael Larsen, Noam Lifshitz, and Peter Keevash.
