Confinement, Deportation, and Transit
Tuesday, November 18, 11 AM (Central Time, USA)
Join HEFNU for a discussion of Nazi-era confinement, deportation, and transit. Moderator Tabea Linhard (Rice University) brings together Aomar Boum (University of California-Los Angeles), Alina Bothe (#LastSeen; Free University-Berlin), and Daan de Leeuw (Free University-Amsterdam) around questions related to experiences of forced dislocation, forced enclosure, and confined transit in Europe and North Africa. Discussion will range from a focus on deportees to bystanders and others; from the mechanisms of confinement and deportation, to sites of confinement and displacement, as well as to memories of those sites.
