Our “Have Coffee and Conversations” series is a unique opportunity for you to reconnect with fellow alumni, share your experiences, and enjoy meaningful conversations in a relaxed setting. This month, we’re taking a look back at the incredible legacy of The 12th General Hospital.

In honor of Veterans Day, join Katie Lattal, head of Special Collections at Galter Health Sciences Library and Learning Center, for a presentation on the 12th General Hospital, the Army field hospital unit staffed primarily by Northwestern doctors and nurses during World War II. Illustrated by photographs and documents from Galter’s archives, this presentation will review the timeline of the unit’s service throughout the war, highlight the kinds of medical care provided by the unit, and share anecdotes about what life was like for the Northwestern doctors and nurses while they were stationed in North Africa and Italy.
