Writing, iterating, and critiquing prompts to generative AI tools are critical skills needed to understand the limitations of generative AI and get the most out of current tools. Understanding the process of prompt engineering can help instructors determine the appropriate place of generative AI in their courses and design both AI-enabled and AI-resistant course components.
In this session you will,
-Practice modifying example prompts for your individual needs,
-Test different techniques to create new prompts that support useful and ethical interactions with generative AI tool, and
-Identify connections between techniques for prompt engineering and course or subject-specific learning objectives.
