TRANSFORMING OUR FUTURES
A Humanities for the Public Good

The Kaplan Humanities Institute is delighted to welcome Joy Connolly, president of the American Council of Learned Societies (ACLS), for our spring 2026 Critical Conversation in the Humanities.

Dr. Connolly will be joined in conversation by Marwan Kraidy, Dean of Northwestern University in Qatar and Chair of the ACLS Board of Directors.

With each other and the audience, Connolly and Kraidy will discuss lessons from—and for—the humanities as we move through our current challenges and shape our collective futures.
