The Russian, Eurasian, and East European Studies (REEES) Research Program at Northwestern University invites you to a Zoom talk as part of its East Meets West speaker series.
Speakers:
Serhii Dembitskyi, Deputy Director for Research, Institute of Sociology, National Academy of Sciences of Ukraine
Olga Burova, Head of the Sociological Monitoring Unit, Institute of Sociology, National Academy of Sciences of Ukraine
Moderator:
Olga Kamenchuk, Associate Professor of Instruction, School of Communication, Northwestern University.
Drawing on long-term sociological monitoring and original survey data, the speakers will examine how Ukrainians perceive their present and future, assess social resilience, and evaluate prospects for societal stability amid ongoing war and political uncertainty. The discussion will situate these public attitudes within a broader societal context that includes recent political turbulence, high-profile corruption scandals, and the evolving negotiation process, without treating these developments as direct survey items.
