Imran Morhason-Bello, MBBS, PhD, had his undergraduate training in Medicine and Surgery and Masters in Reproductive Biology, at the University of Ibadan, Nigeria; Master’s in public health (Epidemiology) at University of Liverpool; and a doctoral degree (PhD) at the London School of Hygiene and Tropical Medicine, UK. He is a Fellow of West African College of Surgeons (FWACS) and National Postgraduate Medical College in Obstetrics and Gynecology (FMCOG), and Fellow International College of Surgeons (FICS). He was awarded Doctor of Medicine (MD) by the National Postgraduate College, Nigeria. He is currently a Senior Lecturer at the College of Medicine, University of Ibadan and Honorary Consultant at University College Hospital, Ibadan. He also lectures Masters and Doctoral students at Pan African University Institute of Life and Earth Sciences, University of Ibadan.

Morhason-Bello is currently focusing on understanding the behavioral, lifestyle and epigenetics of Human papillomavirus infections, associated precancers and cancers in different populations in Nigeria. He led one of the largest population studies in Sub-Saharan Africa on sexual behaviors and epidemiology of HPV infections in multiple anatomic sites (oral cavity, cervix, vulvar, anal cavity and penis) in men and women in general population and sex workers entitled Sexual Behaviors and HPV Infections in Nigerians in Ibadan (SHINI) study.
