Bio:
Dr. Charles Semelka is an early-career physician scientist and assistant professor of medicine at Wake Forest University School of Medicine. He works as geriatrician and certified medical director with a clinical focus in the nursing home and primary care. He completed medical school in 2017 at UNC Chapel Hill. He completed internal medicine residency and geriatric medicine fellowship at Wake Forest University School of Medicine. He earned a master’s degree in translational science at WFUSM while completing a T32 research fellowship on aging immunology. He is currently a Pepper OAIC REC scholar and focuses on biomarker associations with clinical outcomes for older adults recovering from hospitalization.
