HEP Seminar: Yaxni Gu: "From Higgs Resonance to Fast Tracking: Resonance Search for X→YH→γγbb and Novel GPU-Based Track Reconstruction"

Searches for Higgs-related resonances in b b γ γ final states provide a sensitive probe of extended Higgs sectors and other new phenomena beyond the Standard Model. They combine the excellent mass resolution of the diphoton system with the strong Higgs-to-b-quark coupling, allowing sensitive searches for heavy resonances and exotic Higgs decays. These analyses rely critically on precise tracking and b-tagging performance, especially under HL-LHC pile-up conditions. I will present recent progress on GPU-accelerated tracking algorithms developed for CMS, which offer fast, hardware-agnostic pattern recognition and improved scalability, and briefly discuss their potential for future collider environments.
