Sergey Ivanov is a Visiting professor at the Department of History of Northwestern University. He is a specialist in Byzantine history, the author of more than 200 publications, among them the monograph "Pearls Before Swine: Missionary Work in Byzantium" (Paris, 2015).He is a member of the British Academy.
